So what do you call an event that starts out with over 3,200 participant… played over 34 different locations and then after 4 days of play… on the fifth day… it plays down to 1 winner?

While competition is what initially attracts golfers to the World Am, it’s only part of the event’s story. At the heart of the World Am’s appeal is the camaraderie among its participants. On the 3rd day of play… practicing on the range, I felt a tap on my shoulder and a gentleman said Greg Wise, it’s been a while since we have seen each other. Mike St. Clair from Virginia. Someone I played with 3 years ago. What a great surprise.
So much of this camaraderie and kinship is fostered at the World’s Largest 19th Hole. Each night of the event, the 19th Hole overtakes all 120,000-square feet of the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, providing participants with free food and drinks, live entertainment, celebrity guest appearances, a golf expo and more. Remember that number of beers consumed at the 19th Holes? Now throw in the fact that Crown Royal and Tito’s Vodka are sponsors of the 19th Hole… Now you understand that 3-hours every night creates a unique experience that you won’t find anywhere else.
Among the big names that joined media personality and tournament emcee Charlie Rymer at the 19th Hole this year are Golf Channel personalities, Damon Hack, Chantel McCabe and Geoff Shackleford, social media influencer Paige Spiranac, famed instructors Michael Breed and Hank Haney, and billiards legend Ewa Mataya Laurance.
In addition to a bucket list golf experience, World Am players will also receive a gift bag that includes a Chase 54 polo, a pullover, a logo’d hat, a PGA Tour Superstore gift card and an assortment of other goodies.
A Tremendous amount of players in this years event were from North Central Florida, lead in part by “The Villages.” It’s time to plan for your bucket list experience for 2020. The 37th Annual World Am will be played Aug. 31 – Sept. 4. We’ll maybe make a special impact on the area with some North Central Florida Golfer – Apparel. Leave some comments and we’ll getting some planning going.
